Directories

Jasprint produces many directories for membership organisations – this involves the extraction of the relevant data from the organisation’s information database(s) and feeding this into pre-designed style sheet templates. This creates the variable part of the directory to which is added the comparatively static information about the organisation.

Full indexing is important and can be generated automatiaclly.

Revenue earning Advertisements may also be required.

Directories need to be very “user-friendly” in appearance to encourage usage so we take much care in page layout, choice of fonts, use of pictures and indexing aids like black edge-tabbing of pages. Covers are designed in colour.

We have particular experience with organisations like the Church of England that we share with our clients.

Database Derived Documents

These are documents created by extracting selected information from your databases.
This requires special-purpose software that we term DATABASE PUBLISHING that combines the ability to manipulate data with the creation of attractive page designs and then to merge the incoming data into the page templates to produce documents like a Directory, a Catalogue, a Report, Timetable or Price Book .

Directories for Membership Organisations are mainly text but possibly incorporate illustrations.
Sales Product Catalogues are similarly generated from databases of sales price lists, product picture libraries and technical specifications.
Timetables, Price Lists and Reports are text and data orientated for applications where users do not have computer/web access

EASY UPDATING
Most importantly, after the initial set-up of layout templates, the database download process can be saved so that regular document updates can be quickly and cheaply processed.

INDEXING
In most of these documents comprehensive Indexing is vital and Database Publishing software can do this virtually automatically

WEB DISPLAY
The same documents can be adapted for Web-Page display and even further developed to achieve E-Commerce trading.
